For all students working on Honors Capstone Projects,
the Honors Program makes available a consultant, Henry Jankiewicz of the Writing
Program, who is able to work individually with students on writing issues they
are experiencing as they work on their theses. He is available in 304D Bowne by appointment (hjjankie@syr.edu). His office hours are:
Before Spring Break: Thursdays and Fridays from 2:30 to 4:30 pm
After Spring Break: Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 2:30 to 4:30 pm
Henry Jankiewicz is an experienced
writing instructor, available on an ongoing basis, to confer with students about
any aspect of upper division Honors work connected with composing. This
includes help with organizing notes, brainstorming, problem-finding, editing and
revising, procrastination problems, footnote formats, preface writing, preparing
for oral presentations, and anything else one can think of. This service
is meant to support, not replace, the relationship with the Capstone Project Advisor, but
students should feel free just to drop by to talk about their work.
He runs limited drop-in hours in the Honors suite
from October to May. During the fall, he is here about an hour a week.
During the spring, he is usually here for six hours per week, spread over Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons. In addition, you can phone or e-mail
him for an appointment as needed.
